Dr. Tony Dale founded The Karis Group in 1996 in response to his concern over the rising costs of medical care and the impact of escalating costs on less affluent populations. Since our humble beginnings, we’ve remained committed to resolving the unique challenges that the uninsured and underinsured present to employers, organizations and providers. We know firsthand that there are no easy answers, but we also know that hard work, innovation and commitment have led to economically sustainable solutions that genuinely control costs and increase access to quality care.
The Karis Group began by negotiating medical bills for medical sharing organizations. This service morphed into what we now call Patient Advocacy or Bill Mediation, a service where we assign a negotiator to a patient who acts as an intermediary between the patient and their provider, advocating on the patient’s behalf to resolve their medical bills whether by settlement, payment plan or assistance qualification. During our fifteen years of providing Patient Advocacy or Bill Mediation, we’ve negotiated over 70,000 individual bills and have saved our clients hundreds of millions of dollars.
Today, we work with clients and providers nationwide, negotiating almost ten thousand bills a year and saving our clients and their members or employees over $24 million dollars a year.
Our unique ability to provide a wide range of effective solutions has made The Karis Group the company of choice for health benefit plans, health insurers, employers and employee assisance programs. As we move forward, we will continue to leverage our unique knowledge and expertise to help employers, organizations and providers develop innovative solutions to control costs and increase access to quality care.
