Dr. Dale comes from a long line of medical missionaries, having himself been brought up in Taiwan. And while Chinese was his first language, Tony likes to tell people about being “made in Taiwan” - he is just a cheap imitation. Following in the family tradition, Tony has always been very committed to living out the relationship between Christian faith and practice. To him, belief without action is tantamount to not really believing at all. Because of this it is natural that he has found himself aligned with the current rapidly growing simple church movements that are transforming global Christianity from an institution back into a vibrant movement.
These rapidly multiplying, simple communities of Christian believers are meeting in homes, offices, campuses; wherever they live out their daily life. Statistics from the respected Barna Group show that the growth of these movements in the United States has been in the order of 1000% over the past decade. As many as 20 million Americans now have some contact with a church of this type each week. If these Christians were gathered together into a typical denomination, they would now be larger than the largest Protestant denomination, the Southern Baptists!
Five years ago, along with leaders from two other house church networks in Texas, Tony and Felicity Dale helped launch House 2 House magazine. For more information about this side of the Dale's work, please visit ww.house2house.com. Read more...
